The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Watch for parts of the West Valley, including Goodyear, as temperatures are expected to climb well into the triple digits next week.
The watch is scheduled to take effect through Sunday, March 22, covering the Northwest Valley and Buckeye areas along with other communities across the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Forecasters say afternoon high temperatures could reach between 103 and 108 degrees, creating potentially dangerous conditions for people who spend extended time outdoors.
