Goodyear residents could see their utility rates increase by up to 21% over the next five years if the City Council approves a new five-year plan for water, wastewater, solid waste and storm water rates.
The council is scheduled to conduct a public hearing during its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, as it considers the plan that was more than a year in the making.
According to a staff report, customers would see a 1.9% increase effective Jan. 1, 2021, if the council approves the five-year plan. Subsequent increases of 4.9% would go into effect in January 2022, 4/1% in 2023, $4.1% in 2024 and 4.8% in 2025.
