The Goodyear City Council is set to take the next step in appointing a new city manager during a special meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, April 6.
The position became vacant following the retirement of former City Manager Wynette Reed in early March. The council is expected to consider appointing Bryan Langley, who currently serves as city manager in Kyle, Texas.
City officials said the recruitment process drew a record number of applicants and included a nationwide search conducted with the help of an executive recruitment firm.
