Goodyear City Council approved two 40-foot signs for a new industrial complex, 10 Goodyear Commerce Park, as an exception to current city code.
Current zoning code currently affords 12-foot signs for new developments. According to Katie Wilken, the city's deputy planning director, the two 40-foot signs are designed to give the new park a clearly visible aesthetic.
“As you can see from the image it is intended to give it kind of an entry feel and be architecturally beautiful in the area,” she said during the council meeting. “There are also smaller project monument signs. These are kind of similar to what you might see as an entrance to like a neighborhood.”
