Goodyear approves multiyear rate hikes for utility customers

The Goodyear City Council approved a multiyear utility rate plan that would increase the average residential customer’s utility bill by approximately 5.8% to 5.9% annually for the next four years.

The vote follows months of review and collaboration with the Citizens Water Advisory Committee and independent financial consultants.

Vicki Gillis and Brannon Hampton voted against the majority, with Gillis citing concerns about the city taking on more conservation efforts.
