PBX Pickleball, the organization that unites retired professional athletes with the pickleball community, will host its inaugural PBX Pro-Am Experience in Glendale with Luis Gonzalez and Jake Plummer taking part.
Fans will have the opportunity to play pickleball with and against Gonzalez, the five-time MLB All-Star and Diamondbacks legend, and retired NFL quarterback Plummer, who played with Arizona State and the Arizona Cardinals where he earned a spot in the 2005 Pro Bowl.
The event goes from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Chicken N Pickle, 9330 W. Hanna Lane, in the Westgate Entertainment District.
Gonzalez and Plummer signed to be PBX Pros.
Other PBX Pros scheduled to play at the Glendale event include American swimmer and Olympic gold medalist Breeja Larson, two-time MLB All-Star Brad Penny, and two-time MLB All-Star Jeff Cirillo. Professional pickleball player and PBX Pickleball head coach Ryan Sherry will also participate.
Gonzalez, Plummer, Larson, Penny, Cirillo and Sherry will play with and against fans who register for the PBX Pro-Am. The exclusive opportunity will be limited to a maximum of 15 fans, who will spend four hours with the athletes playing pickleball in a round-robin format, plus enjoying breakfast and lunch.
