The pandemic brought about many changes, including the one-person golf cart.
Throughout the pandemic, golfers were riding one player per cart, which created many challenges for the durability of the seven Recreation Centers of Sun City West golf courses. Todd Patty, environmental services manager, said high traffic areas have compaction and adding four carts to each group doubles the amount of normal traffic.
“We do have some areas struggling and we can get some of it back with aerification and fertilizer, as well as hand-watering and sometimes we have to re-sod the areas,” he explained.
