Golf car thefts on rise

PORA committee shares tips

Golf car thefts are a major concern in Sun City West.

Rich DeMeyer, Sun City West Posse former commander, responded with a special task force assigned to conduct extra patrols. Due to this, the number of thefts decreased.

Sun City West Posse officials said as recent as April 25 a golf car was stolen from the parking lot at Goodwill, 19109 R.H. Johnson Blvd. While the extra patrols are taking place, it is important for residents to be vigilant. Posse officials suggest purchasing a brake lock, steering wheel lock or changing the key. In addition, a kill switch can be installed that will cut off power to the golf car. Organization officials recommends not leaving golf cars on the side yard.
