Goldwater Institute, city spar before big game

The Phoenix City Council is expected to vote on tweaking language involving temporary signage after a lawsuit was filed against the city this week.

The lawsuit, filed by the Goldwater Institute, says the NFL and the city doesn’t have the right to censor signs on private property during a time period that leads up to the Super Bowl.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court.
