A generation (or two) passing in time can change a lot. Especially when it comes to Super Bowl week -- and the party after the big game, for whichever team will hoist the trophy Feb. 7 in Tampa Bay.
That experience will belong either to the Kansas City Chiefs or Tampa Bay Buccaneers this time around. Some 35 years ago, the experience belonged to a football product out of Glendale when Brad Anderson, then in his second year in the NFL, won it all with arguably the best team of all time -- the 1985 Chicago Bears -- and partied into history in New Orleans.
“The team had an exceptional week-long visit, game and postgame party,” he recalled. “Other than that, let’s just say, it was a good thing that there were no cellphones with cameras back then, (and) we will leave it at that.”
