A chance to learn about bird species and xeriscape gardening requiring little water in the desert is coming to Glendale.
The Bird Walk and Talk goes from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 with a leisurely stroll through the Glendale Xeriscape Demonstration Garden that surrounds the Glendale Main Library, 5959 W. Brown St.
Joe Ford, with the Sonoran Audubon Society, will lead a guided tour on bird and plant species, followed by a plant exchange.
To create a successful plant exchange, participants are asked to donate seeds, plants and cuttings from their collection. Guests are encouraged to wear close-toed shoes, a hat and sunglasses.
