Glendale will consider public art to brighten upcoming new well

Upon approval, call to artists will go out

More public art may be on its way to Glendale.

At its meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, the city council will take up approving public art for the enclosure walls of the Sierra Verde Park well site. The park, located at 21000 N. 71st Ave., is in the midst of a project to drill a new well to expand Glendale’s water resource portfolio.

Drilling started last month, and crews installed temporary 24-foot sound walls around the construction area to minimize noise to the neighborhood.
