Glendale voters approve Prop 402, reject Prop 401

Effects on VAI Resort to be determined

Construction crews work on the VAI Resort in south of State Farm Stadium in Glendale earlier in November. Two Glendale City Council actions related to the project were sent to Glendale voters to decide on in a special election this month. Voters rejected Proposition 401 and approved Proposition 402.

Thursday evening, a full day after Maricopa County Elections released updated vote totals in the Glendale special election related to the VAI Resort, both campaign involved released statements.

It was a split decision. Not surprisingly, each group focused its commentary on the vote result that was a "win."

Glendale voters denied Proposition 401, with 13,803 no votes (50.9%) adding to its initial margin over yes votes, which now are at 13,315 (49.73%).
