Glendale unveils draft of airport expansion plan

City staff introduced the City Council to long-range plans to expand Glendale Municipal Airport with only about $10 million in city funding necessary — and no plans to add another runway.

Glendale Transportation Director Shahid Abbas began the presentation in the Oct. 8 council work session. On Oct. 17 Abbas stated that at this moment there is no follow up public or council meetings or workshop scheduled to present the final draft.

Most of what is called the Eastside Development Plan for the airport will be handled by grant money from the Federal Aviation Administration and other sources.
