In a month, Glendale can officially look for a developer to build a commercial project on the last sliver of city-owned land at the former Glen Lakes public golf course.
During its meeting Tuesday night, the Glendale City Council unanimously approved a resolution amending the city's general plan map for the property on the northeast corner of 55th and Northern avenues, and a rezoning of the parcel from A-1 (agricultural) to PAD (Planned Area Development).
It will take 30 days from the council's approval for the entitlements on this 1.5-acre parcel to go into effect. During her presentation Tuesday, Glendale Planning Director Tabitha Perry said the city is focused on commercial developers, rather than residential.
