Glendale to consider street name-changing policy

Timing of workshop item comes after Phoenix changes controversial name of street

When the Glendale city council convenes for a workshop next week, the proposal for a policy to change street names within city limits will be considered.

Director of transportation Trevor Ebersole and chief capital improvement officer Don Bessler will request that council consider a street renaming policy as a Council Item of Special Interest. Vice mayor Ray Malnar has requested that council consider creating a formal street renaming policy.

The workshop begins at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive.
