Glendale to consider changing ‘Coyotes Blvd’ street name

Since NHL team left town, local businesses make formal request for name change

The Arizona Coyotes left Glendale seven months ago. Will the city street bearing their name be gone, too?

City Manager Kevin Phelps said Tuesday at the city council workshop that the only two local businesses impacted by a Coyotes Boulevard address have made formal requests to the city to look into renaming the street that was named in honor of the former NHL franchise that now calls Tempe home.

Steve Eberhart, general manager for Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa, which is located at 9495 W. Coyotes Blvd., and Dan Dahl, director of real estate at YAM Properties, which owns Westgate, made the requests, according to Phelps.
