Glendale, Surprise men sentenced in multi-million dollar Amazon fraud

Two men from Glendale and another from Surprise have been sentenced in a “sophisticated fraud scheme” against Amazon, federal authorities said Wednesday.

Mughith Faisal, 29, and his brother Basheer Faisal, 28, both of Glendale, were sentenced to 18 months in prison. A third defendant, Abdullah Alwan, 28, of Surprise was sentenced to six months in prison.

All three had pleaded guilty to wire fraud. The three were also each ordered to pay $1.5 million in restitution to Amazon.
