Glendale sees highest homeless population drop in Valley

Efforts have led to dramatic turnaround following 2023 Point-In-Time Count

There’s very good news in Glendale regarding the homeless community.

One year after a study showed the West Valley city experienced the highest jump in homelessness during the previous year among large Valley cities, the 2023 study reveals that Glendale shows the largest decrease among Valley cities.

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Homeless Count is an annual street and shelter count sponsored by the Maricopa Association of Governments that determines the number of people experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County during a given point in time. Conducted on a single day in January, this year’s count took place Jan. 23.
