Glendale may add pickleball at park north of 101

Will survey residents about Sierra Verde Park

Residents of Sierra Verde at Arrowhead Ranch and the surrounding Cholla District neighborhoods will have a chance to voice their opinions on whether Sierra Verde Park should replace its sand volleyball courts with pickleball.

But the clock is ticking. Glendale has just less than $1.5 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding for the park but to use it the city must be under contract by the end of this calendar year.

During its discussion about Sierra Verde Park improvements at the May 28 city council workshop, the council reached a consensus to have a resident meeting plus a discussion during Councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff’s district meeting. The council also limited the improvements to two options.
