Chuck Buffington is a past Glendale Officer of the Year

Officer Chuck Buffington is retiring from the Glendale Police Department after 25 years.

His time with Glendale includes four years in patrol, five years in the Neighborhood Response Squad, 13 years in the Special Investigations Unit as a narcotics detective and certified K9 narcotics dog handler, and three years with the Foothills Community Action Team.

Buffington also was 2003 Glendale Officer of the Year, 2011 Arizona Narcotics Officer’s Association K9 Team of the Year, and 2019 Glendale Specialty Officer of the Year.

Officer Chuck Buffington is retiring from the Glendale Police Department after 25 years.

His time with Glendale includes four years in patrol, five years in the Neighborhood Response Squad, 13 years in the Special Investigations Unit as a narcotics detective and certified K9 narcotics dog handler, and three years with the Foothills Community Action Team.

Buffington also was 2003 Glendale Officer of the Year, 2011 Arizona Narcotics Officer’s Association K9 Team of the Year, and 2019 Glendale Specialty Officer of the Year.

Among his biggest career milestones was assisting with the formation of a coalition of churches, residents and city departments to assist Granada Estates in revitalizing the neighborhood consisting of 278 manufactured homes that were victims of blight and drug-related crimes.
