Glendale police looking for animal cruelty suspects

Arrowhead Ranch pond ducks, geese targeted with darts

Someone, or some people, are killing animals in one Glendale neighborhood and police are looking for help locating the suspects.

The Glendale Police Department took an animal cruelty report on Monday when residents reported that someone is apparently shooting ducks and geese near Dos Lagos Park at the corner of 67th Avenue and Utopia Road with blow-darts. The 5-acre neighborhood park, with its sparkling pond, is located in The Highlands at Arrowhead Ranch.

One resident, Rachel Rooks, lives within a quarter mile of the pond and walks by it several times a day. This past Thursday she saw two dead geese in the lake and notified police. The next day she saw a dead goose on a grassy area near her home, and says there was an orange arrow in its chest.
