Glendale Police: Do not ‘celebrate’ New Year’s with guns

Fire into the air anywhere in the city, get caught for a felony

Just don’t. Don’t bother shooting a gun into the air to “celebrate” New Year’s.

That’s the message from the Glendale Police Department, whose officers will be closely monitoring any celebratory gunfire Friday night.

Glendale had the first police agency in the state to use ShotSpotter — a system that identifies, locates and deters gun violence, while also helping the GPD gather gunfire intelligence and data to proactively fight crime and violence.
