Glendale police arrest teen suspects for shooting at officers

13-year-old allegedly wanted to ‘murder a police officer’

Glendale police have arrested two juveniles accused of shooting at officers in an incident where one of the suspects, aged 13, allegedly told detectives he wanted to “murder a police officer.”

Officers were investigating a burglary call on the night of Monday, June 20, in the 6000 block of Keim Drive in Glendale when they heard gunshots after the burglary suspects were in custody. At one point, several of the gunshots were aimed at officers, who were not harmed during the incident.

Investigators pinpointed that the shots came from an apartment complex located near the 5900 block of West Rose Lane, and located a security camera which captured the incident on video. The teens also appear to have filmed themselves during the alleged shooting.
