Glendale police arrest driver in fatal hit and run

Katiya Deja Clark, 25, was arrested earlier this week and charged with a felony in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed Tony Marie Gonzales, 21.
The crash occurred near 71st Avenue and Bell Road in Glendale around 8:46 p.m. June 23. Glendale Police detectives spent hours going over video evidence and along with hours of investigation on the scene.
According to the initial police report, Gonzales was "thrown several feet" by the impact of the collision near the intersection a bit more than a block east of Arrowhead Towne Center.

The crash occurred near 71st Avenue and Bell Road in Glendale around 8:46 p.m. June 23. Glendale Police detectives spent hours going over video evidence and along with hours of investigation on the scene.
According to the initial police report, Gonzales was "thrown several feet" by the impact of the collision near the intersection a bit more than a block east of Arrowhead Towne Center.
Police were able to locate and identify the involved vehicle in this crash. After several hours of interviews with various people, and additional video evidence discovery detectives were able to positively identify Clark.
Clark spoke to detectives about the incident. She was booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office jail system for the charge of hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident when involving death, which is a felony.
