Two West Valley cities have ended some involvement with their respective chambers of commerce amid personal disputes and denying access to city-owned offices.
In the past two weeks, Glendale and Peoria have either reviewed or opted to cancel their membership in each city’s respective chambers. In Glendale’s, a fight between the chamber leader and the city’s mayor has continued to escalate while in Peoria the city has reneged on a deal to offer low cost, temporary facilities to the city.
The moves come as local officials are reported to have hosted discussions about forming their own business organization throughout the northwest Valley, though both Glendale and Peoria city officials have said they do not have plans to form their own chambers.
