The four candidates in Glendale’s two competitive City Council races ramped up the spending in the second quarter, though two competing election campaigns remain largely self funded and a third was at almost a 50/50 split between her own funds and outside contributions.
Incumbent Ocotillo District council member Leandro Baldenegro only brought in $100 in the first quarter this year, all of it his own money. In April through June, his campaign received $2,577.40 and $2,000 of that is his own money.
Baldenegro spent $2,201.73 in this quarter and had $475.67 remaining as of July 1. He stated in an email that he is walking the walk in terms of his claim of not being a politician.
