St. Patrick’s Day will mean more for one Glendale nonprofit this year than green party favors and cultural celebrations.

The annual St. Paddy’s Day celebration at The Mountain View Pub, at 7033 E. Cave Creek Road, in Cave Creek, has selected EyeCare4Kids Arizona as its chosen charity to support.

The Pub opens at 7 a.m. Friday, March 17 with live music starting at 11 a.m. Not only will the free event feature leprechauns, bagpipes, raffles and games, the Mobile Vision Clinic will be on site from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and individuals are invited to meet staff, volunteers, and tour the clinic. The clinic visits local schools, Native American reservations and rural communities.

All proceeds from the outdoor party will be donated to EyeCare4Kids Arizona to support its services.

EyeCare4Kids Arizona, located at 4432 W. Maryland Ave., in Glendale, provides professional eye care to low-income, visually-impaired children and underserved families since opening in the spring of 2021. The nationwide organization has helped more than 400,000 children receive professional eye exams, vision screenings and glasses when needed.

“From shamrocks to shenanigans here at The Mountain View Pub, St. Paddy’s Day is a very special day of celebration for us,” Mountain View Pub owner JP Pemberton shared in a statement. “We selected EC4K AZ as the charity for this event to support the services it provides, the much needed no cost eye exams, vision screening and glasses to children in our state.”

Live bands will perform at The Pub all day long: Dynamite Draw (11 a.m.-2 p.m.), AZ Avenue (2-6 p.m.), Street Player (6-10 p.m.), plus Kevin Shepherd all day.
