A Glendale singer will perform when the state’s tallest fresh-cut Christmas tree gets illuminated on Saturday in Anthem.
For the 23rd year, Outlets North Phoenix will kick off the holiday season by lighting the tree and hosting a free holiday concert. The festive event takes place at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at 4250 W. Anthem Way, directly off I-17 in North Phoenix.
Ashley Wineland, a Glendale native, draws her musical inspiration from artists like Gretchen Wilson, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert as an up-and-comer on the country music scene.
Also performing will be “American Idol” contestant Elleigh Marie. She was in the Top 24 contestants on “American Idol” during the 22nd season.
Immediately following the concert, Santa Claus and his team of elves will flip the switch to illuminate more than 1.5 miles of LED lights, roughly 10,000 bulbs, on the 70-foot-tall white fir that traveled more than 750 miles from the Shasta-Trinity National Forest on the California/Oregon border. The tree is adorned with over 5,000 ornaments and is topped with a three-foot copper star, a nod to the state’s official metal.
