Glendale police arrested a man Wednesday night after an altercation at his home, according to a report.
Michael Philips, 57, was charged with aggravated assault for an incident on March 1 at about 10:20 p.m. in the 6400 block of West Delmonico Lane in Glendale.
According to police, Philips was in bed after consuming alcohol and complained to a female family member about noise and her use of lights in the home. Philips raised his hand to strike her, who in defense hit him back.
Philips forced the woman to the floor and strangled her, according to the report. Philips’ wife and another family member hit him with pots and pans, causing him to release the victim.
Police arrived and took Philips into custody without incident.
