Council to consider approval of 48-acre sale

The city of Glendale will look to sell two public parcels of land, originally procured over 30 years ago for $10, for more than $600,000.

The city announced its notice of intent to sell the city property comprised of approximately 48 acres and located on the city’s Agua Fria Property. They are known as Parcels 501-99-001J and 501-55-003B by the Maricopa County Assessor’s Office, between Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue.

According to a deed posted on the Maricopa County Assessor’s Office online records, the land was conveyed to the city for $10 in 1991 by Jean Sumners, George Gabbard and Dorothy Haimovitz, plus three living trusts.
