Glendale looking at Teague Library options, including moving it

With downtown project construction approaching, the question is how will 52-year-old library fit in

Talk Tuesday about the upcoming Downtown Campus Reinvestment Project took a turn toward the Velma Teague Library and its possible fate.

The city council met for an afternoon workshop discussion that included feedback from the project’s most recent public outreach meeting. Project leaders met with residents a couple weeks ago for the second in a series of meetings designed to gain public input on various construction directions.

The latest outreach meeting covered plans to renovate Murphy Park, and for the most part residents have seemingly come to favor the idea of improvements that maintain the open space and 100-plus trees on the site that became a public park in 1909.
