A woman and her unborn child are dead following a head-on collision in Glendale.

Just after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, Glendale police responded to a collision in the intersection of 67th Avenue and Northern Avenue involving two vehicles. The vehicles involved were a pick-up truck and sedan.

The sedan had five occupants in the vehicle, including 34-year-old Bridgette Lee Armijo, who was pregnant and seriously injured during the collision. Armijo was in the front passenger seat of the sedan. She was transported to a local hospital, where she and her unborn child died as a result of injuries suffered during the collision.

The male driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their three children, who were in the back seat, were all transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The pick-up truck had two adults in the front seats and one child in the back seat. The two adult occupants were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The child was uninjured.

Detectives determined that the pick-up truck was eastbound on Northern Avenue making a left turn to go northbound onto 67th Avenue. The sedan was westbound on Northern Avenue when it entered the intersection. Both vehicles collided in the intersection.

Detectives are investigating right-of-way and whether or not speed or impairment were factors.
