Glendale announced on Nov. 14 the return of its most beloved holiday tradition, Glendale Glitters, lighting up Downtown Glendale once again this holidays.

The kickoff event will take place 5-10 p.m. Nov. 28 and 29. This two-day celebration will feature an arrangement of lights, complemented by interactive displays and holiday scenes for visitors of all ages.

Guests can visit local shops, enjoy seasonal treats, listen to the sounds of carolers and meet Santa Claus himself.

The official lighting ceremony will take place at 5:45 p.m. Nov. 28 in front of the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive.

There will be more than 20 vendors in attendance offering a variety of treats, crafts, and local favorites. This includes desserts from Nothing Bundt Cakes, holiday and variety-themed facepainting from Visualize Creativity, food from KTT Concessions, and dishes from Island Noodles.

Visitors can extend the celebration on Small Business Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 29 to support local shops, discover holiday gifts, and enjoy promotions throughout Downtown Glendale.

After the kickoff weekend, the Holiday Light Display will continue 5-10 p.m. through Dec. 31.

In addition to the ongoing lights, Santa Claus will be at Santa’s Village every Friday and Saturday, beginning Dec. 5 through Dec. 20. Starting at 6 p.m. families can visit Santa at 5836 W Palmaire Ave, with photos available for $5.

“It truly is the most wonderful time of the year,” stated Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers in a press release. “Glendale Glitters has become synonymous with the Christmas season across the Valley. I urge everyone and their families to come down and take in the holiday festivities in our downtown.”
