Glendale drops voting item on not televising citizen comments

Altered procedure may resurface in December

The Glendale City Council has put on hold a decision that would have moved resident comments from council meetings and pushed them to the end of the sesson.

Before Tuesday’s Glendale City Council meeting, councilors decided not to consider an agenda item that would have moved resident comments to an untelevised, separate listening session after the conclusion of each council meeting.

Whether the matter is dropped entirely or this was merely a procedural change based on a 5-2 council consensus to modify the resident comment period by simply not streaming or televising it remains to be seen.
