Glendale council OKs $1.26 billion city budget

Downtown renovation project gets new $97 million price tag

The city of Glendale Tuesday night passed its $1.26 billion budget for fiscal year 2023-24.

Among the items in the city council-approved budget will be the $97 million Downtown Campus Reinvestment Project, which includes an outlay of $55 million cash on hand, up to 9% raises for all city employees, and $12 million for new fire trucks.

Three years ago Glendale surpassed $1 billion for its city budget for the first time. This new budget represents the biggest in city history, and represents an 18% increase over the year prior.
