2026 ELECTION

Glendale councilor Turner decides not to seek reelection

Bart Turner will finish his 12th year as a Glendale City Council member in 2026 and has decided not to seek reelection that summer.

Turner announced his decision not to run Nov. 17 on his Facebook and LinkedIn pages. He had neck and back surgeries earlier this year.

“As you might imagine, I’ve had plenty of time over the last year and a half or so for contemplation and introspection.  My life so far has been unbelievably bountiful.  I hope I have given back to this world a portion large enough to earn the space and time I have thus far consumed.  I find as the years begin to race by, my remaining dreams and goals are becoming stacked so impossibly high I fear I will not be able to get to them all. Or even most of them.  What I am trying to say is that it is time in my life for a change.  My current term of office on the Glendale City Council ends on December 8, 2026.  Just over 12 months from now.  I have decided I will not be running for re-election,” Turner wrote.
