Glendale intends to examine holding a special election for general obligation bonds this November after unanimous council consent to hire two consultants and gauge public sentiment on potential bond projects.
Any bond proposal would focus on four areas of dwindling remaining bond authorization: Library, government facilities, flood control and parks and recreation.
Bond money for parks and recreation is tapped out, and that category looms as the big ticket in a theoretical 2025 bond proposal, led by a more than $44 million aquatic and recreation center at Heroes Regional Park near 83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
