Glendale council agrees to let library board lead Velma Teague discussion

Process will have extensive resident input

The future of Velma Teague Branch Library will not have many date constraints.

During Tuesday’s Glendale City Council workshop, the council reached a unanimous consensus to turn the discussion over to the library advisory board, with the understanding that the board will gather detailed public feedback on the future of Velma Teague and possibly starting an ad hoc resident committee.

Options are to leave the current library alone, remodel the current building, build a new library in Murphy Park or relocate Velma Teague to the Promenade on Palmaire or elsewhere.
