Coming off its highest grossing year in the venue’s 19-year history, the city of Glendale-owned Desert Diamond Arena made a big move Tuesday night.
City officials and ASM Global, which manages the venue, announced a new long-term lease agreement and $40 million renovation plan.
The move is part of a multiyear strategy to continue to increase the venue’s fiscal returns and key presence in Glendale’s growing Westgate Entertainment District, according to a Tuesday night news release. The West Valley hub is coming off hosting Super Bowl 57 at State Farm Stadium, and in 2024 will see the opening of the VAI Resort, which will be Arizona’s largest hotel.
