It was storybook enough when Glendale-area products Nolan Gorman and Matthew Liberatore, childhood friends since Little League, found themselves teammates again on a Major League field this week.
With some of that emotion subsided, the duo motors into the weekend with their St. Louis Cardinals teammates and it’s all business: a chance for the Cardinals to take over first place in the NL Central heading into June.
The Cardinals open a huge four-game series at home Thursday with the Milwaukee Brewers, who currently sit atop the Central but by just 3-1/2 games over St. Louis.
