Glenda Lowder, 67Sun City West resident Glenda Lowder died Jan. 31, 2008.Ms. Lowder was born Nov. 20, 1944 in Salisbury, N.C. to Lonnie and Jennie Overman. She graduated from Woodleaf High School and received her training as a registered nurse at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, N.C. She served in the U.S. Air Force and received special training to become an anesthetist.She worked at Pekin Memorial Hospital in Pekin, Ill., and moved to Sun City West in 2000. She continued her profession at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix and retired after working at Desert Samaritan Hospital in Mesa.She is survived by twin sisters, Brenda (Lewis) Metts and Betty (Clyde) Overcash; many nieces and nephews; and a long-time friend, Barbara Waddell.A celebration of her life was Feb. 6.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Arizona, 19702 W.
