Gisela Bolten Hogan, 84Gisela Bolten Hogan, 84, died on Sunday, Sept. 16, in Scottsdale, after a short illness.Ms. Bolten-Hogan was born in Numberg, Germany in 1922 and immigrated to the United States in 1929 with her parents, grandparents and older borther. The family settled in Andover, Mass., where she attended Abbot Academy. She married Daniel E. Hogan in June 1942.During her early years, she was an avid horse rider, golfer and skier.Later in life, she enjoyed spending summers in Gloucester, Mass and devoted time to the Salvation Arizona. She was a devout Evangelical and regularly participated in Bible classes at her local church.After her divorce in 1966, she moved to Paradise Valley, where she resided for the remainder of her life.Ms. Bolten Hogan is preceded in death by her former husband. She is survived by her brother, John Bolten Jr. and his wife Ines of Osomo, Chile; her three children, Daniel B. Hogan of Cambridge, Mass., G. Barrie Ladry and her husband Kevin Landry of Boston and David S. Hogan of Phoenix. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A service was held Friday, Sept. 21. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Corps either at 250 Haverhill St., Lawrence, MA, 01840 or 1625 S. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85004.
