Throughout the month of October, storms rolled through Sun City West, including high winds, rain, as well as thunderstorms.
While the sounds of thunder and sights of lightning can be beautiful to observe, these storms can be dangerous. While Ella Jorgensen, daughter of Steven Jorgensen, and some friends were visiting grandparents in Sun City West, a storm began to develop.
Taking in the sights and sounds of the storm outside, Ella and her friend were in the yard area when lighting struck. Ella was barefoot and wearing a special necklace passed on to her from her great-grandmother, which Steven said the pair were just talking about earlier that day.
