Gilbert siblings receive UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation Grant
Gilbert siblings aged 12 and 10, Grayson and Charley Keen, were diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, four months apart, in 2018. Now, the family has access to over $13,000 of grants from UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation.
According to a news release, the Keen family has used the series of grants to keep up with the out-of-pocket costs for the many endocrinologist visits, medications, and supplies needed for their children’s pumps and blood sugar monitors. Specifically, the grant has allowed the Keen family access to the newer technology for tracking Grayson and Charley’s blood sugars and bolus for their carbs.
