The Gilbert Public Schools governing board has designated Dr. Jared Ryan as the district’s next superintendent, subject to board approval at a special meeting Friday.
The board is scheduled to vote on Ryan’s appointment at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30. If approved, he would begin the role in the 2026-27 school year, succeeding Superintendent Shane McCord, who is retiring at the end of the current school year. A public community reception is planned to follow the meeting.
District officials said the selection follows a months-long search that began in September and included community engagement sessions and stakeholder surveys of staff, parents and residents.
