The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety has given the Gilbert Police Department a grant of $90,000 to focus on road safety.
The additional funds will allow officers to spend extra time providing traffic enforcement in the areas of speed and DUI enforcement, according to police officials.
"These grants have been crucial in giving Gilbert residents the extra enforcement, education, training, and attention they all deserve and expect from the Gilbert Police Department," a release from Gilbert Police read. "GPD is grateful for the generosity and support provided by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for safety of our streets."The grant funds are monitored continuously and reported quarterly to AZGOHS.
