With Town Manager Patrick Banger set to leave in early 2026 to become Glendale’s city manager, Gilbert leaders are turning their attention to ensuring a smooth and transparent transition.
Mayor Scott Anderson and the Town Council have laid out a multiphase plan to identify an interim and a permanent replacement, emphasizing continuity in town operations and opportunities for public involvement throughout the process.
In an email sent to employees Oct. 30, Anderson said the council will appoint an interim town manager by mid-November to ensure “continuity and stability” when Banger’s departure becomes official Jan. 2, 2026. The interim manager is expected to start the following day.
