Gilbert mulls short-term rental ordinance

Gilbert staff will put together a short-term rental ordinance for Town Council to consider in the coming months.

That direction came out of the second day of Gilbert’s town retreat Dec. 2, in which staff and council members gather informally to discuss issues facing the town in the coming months.

Staff asked council for direction on whether to include licensing for a fee or the possible additional step of notifying neighbors when a home is turned into a short-term rental property at the end of a presentation on the topic.
