Five months after a Gilbert toddler was declared dead following a backyard pool drowning before astonishing doctors by showing signs of life hours later, his family says he continues to make progress as a fundraiser for his medical care nears its goal.
A GoFundMe campaign for 18-month-old Vincent Fiordilino had raised more than $18,800 of its $20,000 goal as of Monday afternoon. According to the fundraiser, Vincent has been released from the hospital but continues to face a lengthy recovery requiring ongoing medical care and therapy.
"Despite this miracle, Vincent still faces a long and challenging recovery," the fundraiser states. "He will need extensive therapy, ongoing medical monitoring, and support for his healing organs."
